The Grand Lodge of Wisconsin is proud to announce its podcast. To read the blog and listen or subscribe to the podcast, click here.

What is a blog?

The word "blog" is short for "web log." A blog is a commentary or diary-style site that has numerous postings in a chronological order. Blogs typically also allow for posted comments by site visitors. The Grand Lodge blog will be used as a storage area for show notes for the Grand Lodge podcast. Show notes will include a summary of the podcast episode, as well as any other information about the episode (links, photos, etc.).

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a media file (usually an mp3) that can be played on a PC, Mac, or portable media player. Podcasts can be downloaded individually or automaticaly as they become available (subscription). The Grand Lodge podcast will be used to highlight events in Wisconsin Masonry. We will also have interviews with our Grand Lodge officers and other Masons across the state.

How can I listen to the podcast?

You can listen to the podcast by clicking on the blog's title on the blog page. This will download the mp3 file onto your computer and, depending on your settings, may automatically start playing or you may need to locate the file and double-click it to start it. Your computer already has the necessary software to play the file. For instance, if you are using Windows XP, the file will use Windows Media Player to play.

How can I subscribe to the podcast?

The easiest way to subscribe is to use iTunes, which can be loaded on either Windows or Mac. To get iTunes, go to the iTunes download page, select your operating system (Windows or Mac), enter your email address (optional), and click on "Download." After the file has downloaded, double-click on it to start installation. When installation completes, you are ready to subscribe to the Grand Lodge podcast.

Open iTunes. In the "Advanced" menu on the top, select "Subscribe to Podcast." In the URL field of the dialog box, enter the following address as shown:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/GrandLodgeOfWisconsin

Click "OK." iTunes will open the podcast section and you will see the Grand Lodge podcast listed. By clicking on the small triangle to the left of the title, you can expand the listing to see all of the previous podcasts available for download. Any new episodes of the podcast will be downloaded automatically as the are available.
